PNEUMATIKOS - PART 1

Whenever you hear that someone is ‘spiritual’, what it actually means is the fellow is sensitive to the leadings of the Holy Spirit.

 

Why have we had it wrong all this while? For most believers, rather, we think that when someone is spiritual, it means they can pray loudly for long hours or say the name of Jesus more often than the average Christian or are very eloquent when given the podium or can even memorize many scriptures.

 

When you respond to the Holy Spirit, you have actually turned your back to the sinful nature of the flesh and the opposite is that you are led by your flesh.

 

Here’s the catch! Anytime you respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit, he rewards you with more instructions but when you disobey one instruction, He is silent because He gets hurt that you won’t listen to Him.

 

Romans 8:14 explains that when you listen to the impulses of the Holy Spirit, you are a mature child of God.

 

Galatians 5:16 admonishes you to walk in the Spirit because then you will not fulfill the instructions of the flesh.

 

I think we have it all backwards. What do you think?
