The bible admonishes that we make a decisive dedication of our bodies, presenting all our members and faculties as a living sacrifice. The animal used in burnt offering was not living but a burnt sacrifice. We are not called burnt sacrifice because we bring forth the life out of the burnt which is Christ. Do you know Jesus was presented as the burnt offering? He was accepted and oh yes we are in Him! Presenting offerings is called worship. It was the means by which those of the Old Testament worshiped God. The Burnt offering is so-called because of its purpose. The purpose of the burnt offering is to take away the sins of the people. This was normally done by the use of bullocks. Another reason for this offering is to obtain the righteousness of God.
